Services Offered
Ripley County Farms, LLC provides bareroot
seedlings for CRP (Conservation
Reserve Program), CREP
(Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program), WRP (Wetlands Reserve
Program), FLEP (Forest Land Enhancement Program), EQIP (Environmental
Quality Incentives Program) as well as other
governmental and non-governmental land reclamation programs. We also
provide rooted and unrooted cuttings of hybrid poplars and cottonwoods as
well as several varieties of commercial grapevines.
Our nursery is very service oriented.
While we grow for our Midwestern market, we are also happy to contract
grow both the seedling and grapevine varieties/quantities for your
specific plantings. We pride ourselves on our customer service and look
forward to working closely with our customers at both order and delivery
time to best serve their individual planting schedules.
The following are just a few of the
services we provide that we feel set us apart from other seedling
providers in our industry:
-
All stock is table graded (not “row
run”) to your program specifications, or we can provide you with your
preferred size stock.
-
Stock is bundled in
labeled units of 25. When held in our walk-in coolers, it is stored
bareroot (as opposed to pre-packaged) allowing us to monitor and
maintain uniform humidity and temperature, which is vital to the health
of live plant material.
-
All orders are kept
bareroot in our coolers until bagged or boxed just prior to shipment or
pickup.
-
All bareroot stock
is dipped in a “planting gel” prior to packaging. This eliminates
drying during shipping and reduces transplanting shock in the field.
-
Harvest begins after
the first of the year and into the early spring to provide the freshest,
totally dormant seedlings possible.
-
All confirmed orders
may be held in our coolers at no additional charge as long as necessary
to meet your schedule, which may be subject to change due to inclement
planting conditions.
-
All shipments are
confirmed one week prior to the requested shipping date so there are no
“surprise” deliveries. If you need to adjust your delivery date, notify
us in advance of your date and we will make every effort to accommodate
you.
-
Customers picking up
orders at the nursery can request either 4 mil plastic bags ready to go
directly to the field or heavy two-ply, cardboard boxes.
-
We ship in
poly-lined, two-ply boxes that measure 54 in. x 16 in. x 16 in. and
weigh no more than 140 lbs., which can be handled by two men and not
require a forklift at the site. All inventory is clearly listed by
variety and count on the end of each box.
-
Orders will be
shipped in full or partial shipments can be arranged. We can also ship
to multiple job sites in order to best meet your planting needs.
